The European Researchers’ Night (ERN) is back, and the PICO project plays a key role in this year’s activities. PICO raises public awareness of fundamental and cutting-edge physics, demonstrating how discoveries in the field impact daily life. It also prioritises equity, diversity, inclusion, and gender equality across all events.

The European Researchers’ Night is part of a broader EU initiative that encourages interaction between researchers and the public through hands-on experiments, games, exhibitions, and digital activities, all with free access. Events will take place across Europe, offering a unique opportunity for citizens to meet scientists and explore research in an engaging and interactive way.

Additionally, PICO’s participation highlights how research contributes to societal challenges and the importance of fostering STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) skills. By focusing on diversity and inclusion, PICO aligns itself with the broader goals of ERN, which not only showcases research but also encourages a diverse range of people, especially young students, to explore careers in science.
