Les trous noirs (Black holes)

During a 2-hour visit the basic ideas about black holes and general relativity were presented, then the idea of light spectrum was introduced with a hands-on activity with a portable light spectrometer that students could easily use. From the Sun spectrum, we talked about star’s light spectra, the HR diagram of stellar evolution, to circle back to the death of different star classes including those leading to black holes.
